We had a juice, soup, Buddha bowl, chips and dip! Everything was delicious! The atmosphere and service were great! We will definitely make this a regular stop when we visit Port Elgin!
The Pea Pod is a bit noisy and lacks in romantic atmosphere, but boy, is the food ever fresh and healthy. You even get the chance to bring your dirty dishes back to the kitchen, but so what? This place serves real food, and they enjoy what they are doing. Bring the kids, let them run around, or just sit in the big easy chairs or at the tables. Whatever. It's the food that counts and it really does count here. This restaurant is especially good if you have been eating out of greasy fast food places for a while and you want some real green food for a change, to counteract all that carbo muck you've been shoving down. We had the Bouda Bowl, and I recommend this place, but one caveat. They have moved to Port Elgin and are situated on the Main Street. You can't miss it. Look for the big fat easy chairs in the window.
This place was by far the most amazing place in Port Elgin. Being newly gluten and dairy free due to Celiac disease the owner Daniel took time to talk with me and help me make wise choices . The atmosphere was so pleasant and friendly and the food was outstanding. I had the best experience there and sat for over an hour just reading a book on Celiac while enjoying this lovely tumeric in milk drink that was like honey to my tummy . You can also buy some of the products they use which I gladly did.
What a beautiful little spot! The menu was almost too big to figure out for me (non-vegan) - thankfully I was just there for a veggie smoothie. While we waited for our smoothies (1 beet, 1 pineapple spinach) we got a chance to review the menu. The more we looked, the more we liked. The deco is lovely - very inviting eclectic mix of tables, couches/chairs. Massive chalkboards housed the menu. Every table was filled, and they were working on take-out orders. Even as busy as it was, the service was attentive and Danielle looked like she really loved what she does. Patrons were old and young, families, friends and singles. It's really a spot for everyone.
This restaurant is definitely worth checking out! They offer a wide variety of delicious options (particularly ideal for vegetarians as everything is vegan) as well as different salads and soups available throughout the week.
