Mar's Cosmic Fries - Sauble Beach

Mars Cosmic Fries on the surface appears to be a well thought out, well organized operation with their order window, ticket number and pick-up window. However on a day which was not busy, a small order of fries took about 25 minutes. The fries looked good and seemed hot nestled in their cardboard tray inside a half-tall brown paper bag. These are fresh cut fries, but on taste and texture, they were average at best. Especially when you compare their considerably higher price to other area purveyors of fries. They seemed to cool quite rapidly and went stiff and chewy before the order could be totally consumed. Disappointing really, for what we had heard as " best fried ever". Sorry, but there are at least five establishments I can travel to in Bruce County that have fries that are much better.

The food is delicious, if you love unhealthy beach food, and who doesn't? Line ups can be long, but there are rocks to sit on while you wait. I go once early in the year before it gets crazy busy.

I lived in Sauble for years and ALWAYS have to have my Mar's fries fix whenever I visit now. Their gravy is soooo yummy. Great location right on the beach too.

Had heard these fries were legendary and was excited to try them. We (and many other people) ended up having to wait 45 minutes for our poutine. Was it worth the wait? Yes, it was. Don't know if they were down a fryer or were short staffed over the holiday weekend, but fries shouldn't take that long. I hope it was a one-time hiccup.

Tried the fries based on the ratings. Terrible. Took more than 20 minutes and they weren't busy at all. 4 orders ahead of me, all fries and still took forever. Good thing I didn't have a complicated order like a hot dog. Could be wrong here but do not believe that the order I received was properly 'double fried' as they should be for a place like this. Nope, they copped out and served up dry fries. Well some of us noticed. no place to sit either. Not worth the wait, stay away.
