No reason to drive into town if you're staying at the hotel. Good selection on the menu, so if you have any special dietary needs you should be able to find something here.
Great food and there's something different to try during the week. The menus are all in Italian for those who can't read Italian but the staff are nice and will help. Especially try the Huge half meter Pizza with a variety of toppings for most people to try. So big they are a challenge for 1 person to eat i would advise to share between 2! :
I would like to rate this restaurant with more stars, but unfortunately, as guests of the Salvarola spa, we were stuck with some set menus that weren 't quite 100% satisfying and certainly didn 't reflect the quality of the restaurant. The first evening, our meal was included in the Wonderbox package: basically it consisted of tigella, the local type of bread with local produce: cheese, ham... all very good, but merely a starter. Basically we had to order a primo on top, which we had to pay, then we got a dessert included. This is not a criticism to the restaurant, but was nevertheless disappointing. Not every type of drink was included either... The second night, we had booked the Valentine 's Day menu suggested by the Hotel. This time there was enough to eat and drink, and the quality was good, but the menu far from typical regional: 2 starters both based on prawns (strange choice), 2 pastas: strozzapreti with pesto and clams and spinach and ricotta ravioli, beef wellington, coconut pralines and a mascarpone cream with red fruits. All in the 'posher ' setting of the hotel, which didn 't do anything for the atmosphere. I should add that on both evenings we turned up a bit earlier craving aperitivo, and they basically had to open for us... the place is deserted (probably due to the location) before 8p.m. My conclusion: ask for à la carte (the pizzas looked absolutely amazing), forget about any set deal that the hotel wants to flog, and just order some regional stuff (such as the tigella).
This is one restaurant worth going to eat lunch or dinner if staying at the Hotel Terme Savarola or staying in the area. Let's start with the owners of the restaurant- Just two of the nicest people you would meet. They care that things are right and if not, surely they will do their best to make it right if needed. Have been there actually twice, summer 2013 (pizza outside) and my recent stay. The food (pictures shown) was really very good. The meat was cooked perfectly and very tender and the pasta was great as well. I luckily will be back in the area and luckily will once again enjoy the fantastic hospitality and food!
