This dinner out is all about the experience, and it is a feast of many senses. We enjoyed a family, c/w toddlers, the get together which felt as comfortable and warm and inviting as a home party. The menu is not complicated but the wood fire pizza selection both savory and sweet unique and delicious., Sangria pitches a MUST have. The gathering of amazing furniture, China collections, art, photo, eclectic and antique, and we have not even touched on the main focus of the SOLAR GARDENS which is succulents, makes this venu indeed all about the experience. Definately going to come back in the summer and wander the interesting grounds and learn more about the amazing world of succulents: what a succulent place.. Pun intended... Now, how not to overwater my succulent bowl which will be a cherished memory of a truly amazing party! Do go!
We attended an afternoon workshop to put together a terracotta pot full of succulents and then rounded off the day with supper at the cafe. I would totally recommend the workshop to anyone and to tour the farm. Everything is so beautiful and quaint. Unfortunately the cafe was understaffed so our supper arrived 1 1/2 hrs after we ordered and it wasn't really very good. The portions were small also. I had the thin crust pizza and not only was the crust thin, but so were the toppings. I left there kinda hungry. The decor was fabulous. I would recommend a tour of the place, maybe a lunch there (because of size of meal) and then join in the succulent workshop. It was a fun and interesting place to be.
I dont know which is worse, bad service from a mean employee or bad service from a nice employee, but we got both. One was just plain rude on several occasions and the other was pleasant when she was around but clearly was not trained how to do her job properly. The menu was very well written and it made us want to try more than just the pizza which is why we were going originally. We should have stuck to just the pizza. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised as it is not exactly a welcoming spot right from the front gate. There is a sign before you go in clearly stating not to bring dogs on their property( which is fair). You can't miss this sign as you have to get out of your car to open their gate, drive through and then get out once more to close the gate. Just inside the gate there is another larger sign saying something to the effect of "back up and don't bother coming in if you have dogs with you". I just think that's a little overkill. There are several other signs leading you to various buildings but none of them are exceptionally clear. It's such a neat concept as it is also a succulent plant solargarden but I won't return....
We arrived with reservations for 10. The staff tried to accommodate us the best they could with 3 round four person tables. For appetizers we shared 2 orders of solar wings and 2 orders of fried potatoes with a garlic orange dipping. Enjoyed by everyone. Menu includes a variety of salads, pizzas, sandwiches and appetizers. I had the grapefruit arugula salad and a vegan Greek pizza with feta, black olives, artichoke, with a creamy garlic sauce....very good and tasty, fresh to a "T". Fresh bread made daily. Very beautiful place with outdoor seating only. Very beautiful day to eat outside. Surrounding area has lots of lush trees and greenery, plants and an outdoor pool.An olive oil and balsamic vinegar store on site. Very relaxing. Service was great.
