Rondo's Pizza Plus - Sarnia

This restaurant is amazing! The food was fantastic, and the service was top-notch. The bartender was excellent as well. The location is perfect, and the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant is beautiful. The flavors were outstanding.

As we arrived at the restaurant, the rain was falling and we had to squeeze into a narrow parking space, hoping to park on the far side. We were not aware of this and had to find another spot to park.

The pizza was delicious, but the service was extremely lacking. It took forever to be acknowledged and finally a woman with a smile on her face took my order.

Excellent! Food was great. Service was excellent, AL the bartender was excellent. Great location, nice little spot. Great taste and flavour.

The rain falls, Enter into a parking lot that is oddly narrow with the expectation of parking on the far side... was not aware of this, backed into the building... Enter into Rondos... decor remnants of the Gondola. It was unclear if it was open to the public or not, as a table blocked the entry way and everything was askew. However that 's not standard, the place had just went through a catered event earlier in the day. We sat at a table after some shuffling and much confusion. Our menus were brought and we were warned of the sticky tables, not because they are uncleaned, that 's just the way they are. My friend noted that it 's most likey due to the fact that they used a water soluable finish that is easily scratched off cheap and holding too much moisture. Three of us got cesars and one of us got a water. The water was a pithy portion and dwarfed by the cesars which were quite good; nothing out of the ordinary lacking explosions of flavour and various pickling adornments yet, tastey. We were the only people in there at this point and we all nearly finished our drinks some of us did before we were approached for our order. We ordered, peeled the menus back and then waited for over 40 minutes. Our meals finally arrive and oddly our appitizers and salads were missing. We prompted and speedily they turned up. The salads were what they were: lettuce with pizza toppings. Apparently the house dressing is olive oil and white vineger. I 'd rather an admission of the non existence of house dressing then that... but hey! I munched it and it was something I 'd never had before. One of us ordered a pizza that was supposed to have prosciutto a meat when raw, smells like dog but when cooked, is fantastic and there was none, no prosciutto! The marricotti was over cooked had too small of a portion compared to the wasteful amount of sauce, which did taste good. The sausage penne was struggling to become an arabiatta but didn 't make it; the vegtables were undercooked (a bit more nutrients but unexpected texture) and it just didn 't become a sauce, it was over saturated with liquid. The sausage had a good flavour. The pizza rolls had good pepperroni but were burnt and a bit too sweet of dough. The waiter was very addament on getting us water after we had finished for a while and after that it took a while longer to get our check. I think everyone was working hard it 's just... Regardless, One of our party remarked, where 's chef Ramsea when you need him! All of this could have been overlooked yet, Rondos prices are up there, nay steep! It 's almost that they are overstocked and to solidify payments they charge way too much. It 's like the place can 't decide if it 's a pizza place or a gourmet resturant; some sort of identity crisis. I think the management needs to communicate better. Much like when we were there, we felt underappreciated, not payed attention to and shafted out of our money which causes quality to suffer. I 'm not afriad to get wet but we found a few slippery slopes at this place. Derision surrmounted, everyone else wouldn 't go back, I would. I think it has a lot of potential and there were parts of the experience I did enjoy.
