The bartender was slow; it wasn't our server's fault. As for the entrees, they were just okay. The jerk chicken was dry and overcooked, smothered in a white sauce that made it look like something from Applebee's. The burger was decent, but quite blackened, which some might enjoy. The hanger steak was excellent, though. The swordfish was a major disappointment; while the fish itself was good, the couscous was mushy, and the romanesco was served ice cold. It wasn't pleasant to have a hot piece of fish on top of a cold sauce. The service overall was good. In summary, the appetizers were the standout, and I might stick with the red meat in the future. I won't be rushing back anytime soon.
Anna was incredible. Our first experience was perfect. The service was 10/10 the food was melt in your mouth perfect. Probably the best burger I?ve ever had. The atmosphere of the restaurant is welcoming and invites you to stay as long as you want. Theopen gym gives a wonderful inside feel of the chefs giving love to each plate that?s prepared. Highly recommended. Updating toshow more delicious food from their fall menu. This restaurant deserves your attention.
Fantastic food and cocktails! The creativity and quality of the ingredients are exceptional. We started with the lobster bao buns, which were absolutely delicious. For my main course, I had the Caribbean jerk chicken, and it was impressive—an entire half chicken, perfectly cooked and served over mashed sweet potatoes. In the past, I've also enjoyed other appetizers like the rolls (which come with homemade butter and are very good) and the pierogis. Another entrée I've loved is the hanger steak. It is a bit on the expensive side, but it’s worth every penny, and the location is ideal for a stroll around town after dinner.
I absolutely loved the rustic-chic atmosphere and the food at this restaurant. We are from New Jersey and were exploring the Saratoga Springs area. Although we visited several places and didn't try the main courses, the appetizers were fantastic! They had unique flavors, and it was clear that the management has put a lot of thought into the menu. The dipping sauces were also quite distinct from the typical ones found in American restaurants. I definitely recommend it!
Seneca is a great ?new American? restaurant. The food is delicious and innovative with dishes like fried chicken deviled eggs and little neck clams with chorizo. The hanger steak was also cooked to perfection. This restaurant would be at home in NYC orChicago. It?s pretty clear that Seneca is holding itself out as a fine dining establishment and is succeeding. The one thingthat rubs me the wrong way and why I won?t come back to this excellent restaurant is that they see fit to charge $11 for theirbeer and $13 for their most expensive beer. I live in downtown Chicago and even at some of the nicest restaurants $11 for a beeris absurd. Cocktails at Seneca are only $14-$15 which is standard pricing for cocktails so it?s strange to only differentiatethe beer and cocktail prices by $3. When you get to the drink menu at a nice restaurant you can usually find a break in pricesbut Seneca doesn?t see it that away. That?s why even though I had an excellent dining experience I can only give them 4 starsand why I likely won?t be returning in the future.
