We love Freddie 's and visit once a year when we get into town. I would come out more but it 's 1200 miles away. I love the tabouli, cabbage rolls and the smoke sauce for my steaks. I take home bottles of the sauce and tabouli mix to make at home to tide me over until the next visit. My steak yesterday was amazing, a beautiful filet cooked medium rare and it melted in my mouth. The service was a little slow, but not horrible, but it was lunch time and there only was one server that I saw at the time. I am on vacation, so I wasn 't in a rush anyway. I am always looking to support local businesses and my plan is to always try a family run business rather than a chain when I am out. I have seen some say it is expensive. It 's a steakhouse. They usually aren 't cheap . BUT if you just want the basics, a steak, salad and baked potato it 's about the same as a chain steakhouse. If you want the experience of the other sides, it is quite a bit more, but you get tabouli, a salad, a relish tray with hummus, a BBQ basket with a rib and BBQ bolognaThen a cabbage roll- all before that juicy steak arrives!
I'm not particularly a fan of any of the starter food but the pork chops are the best i've ever eaten!
I wanted to take my friend to a great steak place to celebrate her birthday with a yummy ribeye. We had never been to this restaurant. We like Lebanese hors d 'oeuvres so thought we 'd try it for a change. Seating was no problem. The waiter was wonderful even though after reading the sign on the door about being short-staffed, he really hustled. We ordered the special, 18 oz ribeyes. My medium rare was more medium well. Hers wasn 't bad but both were dry and fairly tasteless. She kept hers and used A1. I traded mine for the filet. It came out medium rare but even that was NOT the quality of meat I 'd expect. Both were tough, fairly dry and had more of a sirloin texture. The hors d 'oeuvres were also just meh . Oh well, we 'll know better next time. Unfortunately, a little pricey for this under-par experience.
Worst BBQ and chicken fried steak I've had in a long time. Food was barely warm. Ribs were so tough I had to get a doggie bag for the DOG. Fried bologna so old the outside rim was dark and hard. Waitress was friendly, but never came back to ask how was the food or if we needed something else. The person seating us looked like she just got out of bed. Wore t-shirt (tight on overweight body) sandels and shorts. Not professional for a high-priced restaurant. Female waitress wore short shorts (bent over table next to us and displayed herself) male servers wore ragged hem shorts. It may have been a good restaurant once, but in my opinion Gordon Ramsey needs to help them out!! Won't be coming back.
