A Casa do Porco - São Paulo

I attended the restaurant with a group of 6. We ordered the tasting menu with matching drinks. Honestly I was overall disappointed and unable to find one overly positive thing to say. From the moment we arrived, menus were chucked on the table in front of us without much of a greeting at all before the server walked off. There was a seemingly lack of organisation amongst the staff as they seemed to scramble to bring each dish out. We politely asked if there was anyone that could provide information on each dish in English when they came out we were told that the manager would be happy to do this. The managers attitude from the moment he had to come and speak in English was that of complete disregard, he was obviously annoyed by the fact he had to do it. Honestly would have rather they just said sorry we can’t, it would have been better than the lacklustre service that the duty manager showed us. Back to the food, I was disappointed to be honest, it just seemed to lack taste and was a bit too pretentious. As we sat there looking around we felt like we had made a mistake by choosing the tasting menu as many items that people were ordering around us from the a la cart menu looked considerably better. For a meal that cost over $3000 BRL we left the place feeling a bit confused how this restaurant could be considered the 12th best in the world? Do yourself a favour and skip out on this one when in SP.

Excellent food, great service. By all means, order pancetta with guava (order more than one, you will not be sorry). Best food in my trip to Sao Paulo.

One of the best tasting menus I have ever done! This restaurant is rated the best restaurant in Brazil and it exceeded expectations! We did alcohol pairings and I have never had so many creative and amazing drinks made to go with our dishes. The food was phenomenal and unique. The staff were elegant and precise as they meticulously served multiple plates per course. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Maybe I had a high expectation about it. I've been following Chef Jeffin for a long time and I had in mind to go there on my next visit to SP. Everybody told me it was impossible to get there for lunch, this way I arrived at 6pm for dinner, to make sure I would find a table. Fortunately the place was empty and by 7:30pm it was packed. I was with some friends from SP and we started with some drinks: Cajú Amigo and Wine. Since I had a late lunch I decided to try individual items from the menu, NOT the tasting menu (maybe that was my mistake). We started with the TORRESMO DE PANCETA COM GOIABA, that was the best of the night and I love the combination of sweet and savory. After that we had a LINGUIÇA DE PORCO CAIPIRA that didn't impress. When I passed by the kitchen, I saw a huge pig on a pit and I asked what it was. The waiter told me it was a PORCO SAN ZÉ, and we ordered one. I was expecting a crispier skin and juicer meat, but the skin was a little bit chewy and the meat tender, but a little bit dry. I was almost ready when we asked the waiter for something that would impress us and he recommended the the PORCOLETTA, a pork chop breaded with fresh greens. It was kind of dried and a deception for me. I won't give up on CASA DO PORCO and for sure, I will order the tasting menu next time, but at this point, I'm not able to give a 5-star. Still very excited to try again.

Amazing food. Preparations on the tasting menu were balanced and beautiful. Service was fantastic. Highly recommend!!
