Contribuiți la feedbackI had not appreciated to stay at mod, how much a fully vegan holiday can make the difference to their relaxation. all hard work from what to eat, where to go, googling wein, check the labels etc. meant that we could turn off and charge 100%. christina and argyris have created something very special and unique in santorini and allows vegans to enjoy the best of Greek cuisine and culture. the breakfast is served every day in their room. a combination of chickpea omelet, hummus or avo toast, obst, bakery and a granola or smoothie shell. we were completely refueled for our morning hikes and until lunch. they can also order special other breakfast or room service at any time. everything we tried was amazing. christina also arranged a private cliffside sunset picnic for a birthday party. breathe. would be perfect for any party or suggestion. they have recommended to eat places and drink all the island and can arrange vegan friendly boat or wine tours. highly recommended. they will not be disappointed updated by the previous review on 2022-04-05
Overall: Great location, food, service amenities. When we return to Santorini, we will surely plan on staying at Mod Santorini and having many meals here as well. Christina, the owner and host, is very friendly and helpful, and catered to our needs. What is unique about Mod Santorini is that everything is vegan, so consider this ethical luxury! Hotel/Room: Mod Santorini is a new boutique hotel. While we did not stay overnight at Mod Santorini (as we did not find out about it until after we made other reservations for our stay), this new hotel is very nice. The rooms have a Santorini touch to them, are clean, and are well furnished. There is a very large nice bathroom, and a nice outdoor jacuzzi as well. See my photos of and from Mod Santorini’s Beta Suite. Views/Location: The views from the Beta Suite are very nice. We had our meals in a room that had great sunrise and east sea views from our elevated location slightly down from the outside portion of the rim of the caldera. We could see most of the western sloping land of Santorini, including the distant airport, and much of the open space. The hotel is within a 5-10 minute walk from the center of Fira. Food: The food served is all plant based and vegan as well. The food was creative and really good. See photos of our meals. While in Santorini in December 2021, Christina, the owner, graciously agreed to “open-up” a room for us to have some breakfasts and dinners there. If you are visiting Santorini and want vegan food, get in touch with her to see if you can accommodate. Service: Christina provided great personalized service and is a great host.
Review Hotel: Mod Santorini is a vegan hotel on the island of Thera (Santorini) in the picturesque village of Firostefani. This incredibly cute boutique hotel run by Cristina and Argiris exceeded every expectation I had prior to arriving on this beautiful island. The hotel is new so expecting perfection would be a ridiculous expectation, but this team nearly achieved perfection. From the accommodations themselves to the hospitality we received this crew made our stay on Santorini wonderful. In addition to accommodations, we were pick-up/dropped-off at the airport; participated in a food and wine tour; got car rental reservations made on behalf of us; had arrangements made for a catamaran tour of the caldera; received restaurant/bar recommendations; and…got a sack lunch packed for us for our hike from Fira to Oia. Location: Great location in the village of Firostefani (directly next to Fira). Within walking distance to all the action in Fira (5 to10 minute walk) and many things in the village itself. Keep in mind that the hotel faces east, away from the Caldera, but the sea view rooms have a great view of the sunrise. Accommodations: The hotel is newly reconditioned and re-opened so everything was in exceptional shape. We had a minor problem with the room which was fixed immediately. The room is very quiet and the temperature in the room was pleasant. The room has heat and AC, but we didn’t need it. The bed is very comfortable and adequately dark. We left the east facing window shades open so we could see the sunrise (spectacular) each morning. The room includes a vegan mini bar stocked with snacks and beverages and the room is provided with an unlimited supply of filtered water delivered in a reusable bottle. Our room had a hot tub on the balcony that was accessible either directly from the room or from the balcony. The balcony has a table and two chairs where one can enjoy breakfast (or dinner) or drinks with a view of the Aegean Sea. The bathroom facilities were nice as well, with an overhead rain shower along with a hand shower. Food: The hotel offers full-restaurant service on a reservation basis which we did not take advantage of as well as lunch catering and complimentary breakfast which can be upgraded. The standard breakfast included a chickpea omelet, toast jam, orange juice, breadsticks, and a sweet treat along with in-room coffee (press) and tea. The standard breakfast is delicious, but we upgraded one
Incredible vegan hotel with the most wonderful owners! Christina is such a lovely person she was always happy to provide the best recommendations for food and activities all over the island. We did a food and wine tour and a village tour with MOD that were both amazing. The food was delicious, and Christina was so knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. Walking around and dining with her quickly made it seem as if she was an old friend. It was so reassuring to know everything we were eating was plant based, and that all of the hotel, including it’s furnishings and toiletries, were handpicked with sustainability in mind. MOD is also one of the few places on the island to have its own water filtration system- meaning no plastic water bottles on an island where there is no recycling. The terrace has the most amazing view and is a lovely place for the delectable home cooked breakfast. Do not miss the unique and breathtaking opportunity to stay at this vegan hotel with the best and most hospitable hosts possible!
The rooms are furnished with so much attention to detail, it is a joy! Very elegant and highest level of craftsmanship. The vegan breakfast was the best we ever experienced! Every morning we were looking forward to enjoying Christina's creative cuisine and we were never disappointed. I definitely recommend the wine tour or the island tour with Argiris. It was so great to hear the local details you wouldn't know if you did it on your own. Overall an amazing week and the best relaxation we had in a very long time! We felt like good friends.
