Nice spot. I did not find it quite as vegan-friendly as the last two reviewers, but it is still one of the best options in santiago. had some nachos with guacamole and a very tasty veggie burrito with fried tofu. Just make sure to explain to the owner clearly what they need and they will offer them; look at the menu, it becomes like a fleshy place as it really is. the setting is really very nice. they will not be of the vagen address, easy to walk bambu and you will see it on the right side. friendly owner and some nice products also recommended!
I thought it would be almost impossible to maintain my diet in guatemala. but las lagartijas saved me during my visit to santiago atitlan. they went out of their way to pay attention to my needs and even helped me with non-food-relevant matters. one must be very careful in the regular, raw and sweet to eat in a developing country, but it was not a problem in las lagartijas due to preparation that was taken. they offer tipico options, as well as non-traditional products.
This small place is the perfect lunch place. The owners are great, and they really tried to meet the vegetarians. If you're in Santiago Atitlan, don't miss it. In the last few years, since I have eaten there, they have added several vegan options. My favorites are the Taco salad with Tofu (to have made it vegan), and the Aubergines Torta. You also have an excellent Veggie Burger. Wash everything with some of their homemade ginger ale. The service is excellent (not too often here), and the food is very fresh. They have a small shop with a number of homemade jams, pickles, relish, peanut butter and some of the best hot sauces around.
I was thrilled to discover this restaurant while visiting Santiago! The owners were incredibly welcoming and when I mentioned that I was vegan, they provided me with a wide variety of meal options to choose from. They even offer pizza with vegan cheese! I decided to try the lentil burger, which was tasty, but I felt it was a bit pricey for what it was.
