We ended up in the little town of Sant Andrea at a delightful family restaurant, The Fabiola , and what a happy find this was for us.The owner approached the table chattering and as my Italian is not great he immediately rushed off to get his son, Vincenzo, who spoke flawless English. The food was superb and plentiful, we started with Bruscchetta that was moist and drizzled with very fine olive oil, I had Pasta Arrabbiata that was cooked to perfection and my friend had Pizza that was crisp and topped with very fresh ingredients. My friend also has Tiramissu and we both had large bottles of aqua frizzante. Throughout the evening Vincenzo returned several times to enquire how the food was, were we enjoying ourselves and by the way, they had several new beers they were introducing and would we like to have a few on the house? Alas! neither of us drink alcohol but I did think it was a most charming gesture. We spent ages chatting with this intriguing boy, about 19 years old I think and still at school, but regardless of the subject, politics, history or philosophy he kept pace with us. It was one of the finest evenings I have spent in a restaurant and for this lovely family, they have our utmost thanks, profound respect for having such a wonderful son and of course for feeding us their best food. We will return to dine there again, and again, and...... PS The cost for all this food and drinks came to about 20 Euro. Splendid place.
My fiancee and I came from Philadelphia to Sant'Andrea di Conza to visit friends and family. We went with our friends to this restaurant and enjoyed some delicious pizza. My fiance was wondering about the porchetta, so the owners brought him some to try, as well as a nutella pizza for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the service so kind and welcoming! A perfect restaurant to have a wonderful time with friends and family alike. Thank you so much for the hospitality and great food. We will be back next time we are in Italy!
