La Taberna De Lucia, Santa Pola

I really hate to leave a bad review, but this was especially bad, and others need to beware. The service was very good. The staff was friendly, engaged, and responsive to requests. However, this palla was horrible. It was old and had obviously been sitting around the kitchen for hours before being served to my wife and me. It was burned on the bottom, and so very dry. There was hardly any sea food in it. It had 2 prawns, 2 mussels, 4 shrimp, and lots of chunks of dried-out fish that were not recognizable. I can’t imagine that this is anything the kitchen would have been proud to serve to their friends or family, and they should not have allowed it to be served to guests. To the management, I say that when dinner guests join you for a meal, they put trust in you. Oftentimes, it is a special occasion or vacation, and you are holding this in your hands. Please do better for the next guest and learn from this shortfall.

We have ordered menu of the day. There were 4 starters and 1 main dish. Starters were amazing. For the main dish, I ate pasta paella. I have tried first time in my life. Its recommended but its not better than classic paella

Very poor food. Starter ok. Russian salad and Boquonies. Mains a disgrace. Lamb chops over done. Replaced 1 chop which was raw. Didn't really care. We had to pay full bill. Staff, I.e manager just shrugged his shoulders. Not interested. Looks a lovely restaurant but food awful. Table next to us had to send back their fish as it was under cooked. Would not return.

Quality jota for the price. the very rich black rice, the rest is only raisable and very jot. attention was not bad but if it improved (something dry.)
