We dropped by the Backyard at Chez Jay on a leisurely Friday afternoon. The staff greeted us warmly, the cocktails were expertly crafted, and the burgers (Chez and...) were absolutely delicious.

This place is amazing! The food is absolutely delicious, the drinks are excellent, and the wait staff, especially bartender Jeff, is wonderful. Kudos to Jim Mahoney and the team!

This historic restaurant in Santa Monica is a must-visit. I've been eager to dine at Chez Jay ever since I watched the movie *A Single Man*, which features several significant scenes shot here. The atmosphere is wonderfully retro and intimate, adorned with charming lighting and accompanied by great music. The food is outstanding, with delicious steaks, fresh fish, and flavorful appetizers. Since the space is cozy, I recommend making reservations. Overall, I highly recommend it for a truly unique dining experience!

I absolutely love this place and have been coming here for years. I always make a stop here when I travel through California, and I recently stayed at the nearby hotel. Just a few minutes ago, I had an incredible meal featuring sautéed fish that tasted like butter—simply beautiful. I even dined next to Stephen King! I helped someone who had a bit too much to drink to their car, but I won't mention any names. You never know who you might run into in this life! The bar has a great old-school vibe, and the prices are reasonable.
