Brick Mortar - Santa Monica

We had an amazing experience at this place. We stopped by for a couple of drinks and a snack, and we chose the chicken and waffles. It did not disappoint! I highly recommend it! (The photos are from Google at night and from my iPhone... Either way, it’s definitely worth it!)

Frankie the manager took amazing care of us and Haley (tall brunette) our server was extremely kind, attentive, timely, and knowledgeable about the menu. I would come back just because of Haley and Frankie! We didn 't have the 'perfect ' experience but the problems we had were handled right away!

Went during happy hour (12-16). Fantastic food. Good drink selection. Quick and friendly service.

I had a great evening at Bricks Mortar! However, it was extremely loud inside. The space is quite small, and the bar area is integrated with the dining area, leading many patrons to treat it more like a bar. Overall, the food was good but could have used a touch more salt. I particularly enjoyed the Mac n Cheese! We also tried the chicken and waffles and the BBQ chicken pizza. I found both dishes delicious, although my partner thought they needed additional seasoning. I preferred the BBQ chicken pizza here over that from dedicated pizza places like CPK! The service was a bit slow, which was understandable given the crowd, but our waitress was incredibly sweet and friendly. It’s worth mentioning that there are only single restrooms for both men and women, leading to long lines for each. Given the weekend crowd, they could definitely use larger bathroom facilities. Additionally, there were too many TVs in the dining area, each showing a different channel, which felt distracting and took away from the dim, gastropub-like atmosphere. Overall, I had a good time and enjoyed a tasty meal, but it was too noisy, and the food could benefit from a little improvement. Still, a solid dining experience!
