El Bistró - Santa Marta

NOT EAT HERE I had to send the fish back because it was so fishy. You told me it's fish. Yes I know I ordered fish, but it shouldn't taste like ****! The octopus was also rubbery. I was... very polite and kept my cool. A cartridge in another restaurant helped explain the problem in Spanish. So I gave them another shot and ordered the chicken with mushrooms and a cream sauce. I cut into the chicken breast on the thick part of the chest and it was completely raw. I'm trying to publish photos if it's allowed. Wow, even the server looked at me with unbelief and could not believe that the chicken was raw. I don't know how this place is in business.

Had the 280gr steak. It was nicely cooked, just to much pepper on the meat and not enough fries. The service was a bit clumsy.. we got bread with the drinks and again bread with the plates. It had a weird sauce with it.. usually...butter is better no ? first restaurant in Santa Marta, so cannot complaint but overall, ok ish !

We visited this restaurant during a recent visit to Santa Marta during the Christmas holidays, so the whole city was very busy as you can imagine. We sat outside what allowed the excellent people to watch and allow us to enjoy the sights and...sounds of an evening in the main pedestrian and entertainment area of Santa Marta. The staff were excellent, even trying to speak Wnglish that is so common in Colombia outside the capitals. We had salad and a fillet mignon for the net, as we were not so hungry. Steak was perfectly cooked and presented with potato cheese gratin. For dessert we chose the brownies with ice cream, also excellent. Very recommended and the best food we found during our stay in Santa Marta.

Okay. I spent a lot of time in South America and what can I say except Peru should You don't come for food This was far and away teh best steak I had in Colombia and I went to some Argentine steak houses here. I ate their every 4 nights because I was quite sure that I did not find better the hosts and Teh cook were big, the other staff was a little hit and miss the one night they seemed a little bit off I had teh raviolli that was a little too al dente and they forget my salad the hosts saw what happened and gave me a free desert and a free glass of wine the wine list could use a small work

We didn't know what to expect, but we were surprised by good Italian cuisine: the fresh fetters were delicious and so was our desert: cream brûlée (we ordered it twice). Also cocktails 2 for 1 were a bonus!
