Contribuiți la feedbackI have stayed at Reads some years ago and the place was buzzing, terrific food, and service, an atmosphere rarely felt with live music and fun Now. all the murals painted out with white, more suitable as a drug rehab clinic, how is this possible. We left next day quite shocked.
Wonderful restaurant. We had the most delicious dinner! Martin is the greatest chef in Mallorca and created 4 delicious dishes for us! We really recommend this place if you want a special experience!
A group of us visited this restaurant for a meal. I understand that the restaurant is starting anew with a new owner for the hotel. So it is very early days in the sense of a review. My husband and I did a quick look around the hotel before planning to bring friends for a meal. The new chef Martin was very warm and friendly and explained what they were trying to achieve. So we decided to go for a meal and give it a go. The main restaurant was fully booked but they offered us a private room for our group of 8. The table was beautifully set and our front of house lady Florrie was very sweet, trying her very best and was really keen to make our experience a good one. The menu was a choice of two soups (pumpkin and mango very nice and a large helping) or a white onion soup with scallop. These were followed by three options for the main course. The duck with papaya and pumpkin, aubergine seemed the best option, other choices were a pasta dish with fruite de mer and that was popular with your group. Interestingly no pudding options were offered but we were given a pleasant palate cleanser after the meal. Basically an interesting style with variations on flavour that were not at all Spanish but focussed on fresh local ingredients creating an exciting option of flavours. They are still feeling their way with many small details but they definitely deserve a try and I think they will get things right and will be a good experience. some small tweaks and minor details to work on. The hotel is very beautiful and calm, and looks a great spot to stay the owner is definitely interested in elegance and style and the restaurant chef now needs to have space and time to develop his concept in cooking for this restaurant. I gather the chef has a lot of experience and is passionate about the restaurant. So good luck
The staff were welcoming and the setting was idyllic. Food also was excellent. Just quiet which is a shame because it's such a nice place. If you want seclusion and relaxation, this is a good place to go.
Judith and I have often eaten in a lovely restaurant in central Santa Maria del Cami. Since it changed hands it's no longer special, so we went in search of Reads instead. We weren't disappointed. The fink has an interesting history and is quite secluded. The day we were there it was very quiet. We had lunch on the terrace near the pool. the men del dia for €19.50 was very good value. Ju had the sea bass and I the chicken in salsa. The starters of salad were excellent and big. Finally, we both chose almond cake and ice cream to finish. Food quality was very good. The service was friendly and rather leisurely, so it's not a place to dash in and out out of. But why would you, with lovely views of the mountains and gardens. Then only downside was the noisy gardeners. i know that cutting and streaming has to be done but it was noisy until the waiter intervened and the din stopped. A special lunch in lovely surroundings.
