We were encouraged to try the flash fried spinach salad and it was SOOOOO good, think crunchy warm amazing salad... less leafy fresh salad and more flavorful creative and...cooked...? salad. I don 't know exactly how they do it but it 's so delicious! We got the vegetarian cashew cream sauce with paneer and green peppers and onions, medium plus in spice. Our waiter said the chef usually under spices things to be safe, and so we went medium plus. I think I could order spicy next time, but as we had it, it was a delicious heat and great flavor.
Service: 4/5 Ambience: 4/5 Food: 3/5 We ordered Chicken curry, Kofta and Daal Makhani, Rasmalai and Mango Kulfi for desserts and Delhi chaat in appetizers. Everything was okayish, didn't like it that much. May be I got my expectations high because of good reviews. Place was bit tight and cozy but interior decorations and lighting was good. Overall the place was good for cuisine change. That's all.
My mom and I randomly ended up here on a cold and kinda thinking it was going to snow Sunday afternoon while we were on vacation in Santa Fe. We had been down at the Railyard District kind of wandering around, decided we needed to get some lunch and started walking. And found Raaga. And we were so happy we did! It was not super busy when we arrived being it was a Sunday afternoon and all. We were seated immediately and our waiter was great. My mom and I split some Naan and I got the chicken curry and she got the lamb curry. The food was wonderful and I enjoyed pairing my meal with a Taj Mahal beer. The best part though of the whole meal was meeting and chatting with Paddy the owner and chef. What a neat guy! I am not a huge Indian food eater but loved my experience here and loved the food. I would definitely go back again the next time I am in Santa Fe.
Awesome hospitality, great relaxed vibe, flavorful, fragrant food. My husband and I visited here after reading the reviews, and we weren't disappointed! We were warmly welcomed by the host and the chef upon arrival and quickly seated. We had lamb curry, rosemary naan, and mango lassi. Everything was fresh and delicious. To cap off wonderful service, the chef came out to the table to chat, and he was so lovely. We're planning to come back soon! Maybe tomorrow...
My husband and I stopped eating Indian years ago when we went vegan, as it was very hard to get dishes without ghee. What a pleasure to open a menu and see numerous vegan dishes, clearly identified. The standouts for were the lentil coconut soup appetizer, the huge portioned veggie biryani, and the veggie tandoori. The wine and beer list had nice offerings, too. Quite pricey for Indian food, but more of a fine dining experience than your typical Indian place. The ambience was quite lovely and we appreciated the chef/owner checking in with us...he is quite the charmer. I'll come back and replace the fifth star when they offer a vegan naan and rice pudding; come on guys, it's not that hard, I know you can do it!
