Our entrees were nicely plated and the food was great. Of course for dessert we ordered the banana foster! Since it was an early dinner, happy hour took place so we had an appetizer and some delicious red wine. We’ll be back!
Food was good. Service was good. But the atmosphere and overall experience were not what I’d expect for the price point. I saw people recommend this as “romantic” but I strongly disagree. It does have dim lighting and a cheap candle, but the dining room was loud and overall vibe felt more like a party than a romantic outing. The background music would have fit in at a hotel pool bar or a cabana club. Multiple times during our meal a waiter came by with a “sparkler” desert that looked like a bottle service delivery. The food is great, but feels like they need to choose their ambiance. Are they going to be a hip, fun happy hour patio or a serious button-down experience? It could be either, but today leans heavier on the fun. Just wish I knew in advance so I could have picked differently for my anniversary dinner.
Let me start with I travel all over the states looking for new dining experiences. This place by far has the best filet mignon I’ve ever had. It was so tender and flavorful. Also, the Cesar salad was delicious. The restaurant itself is cute and intimate. The service was perfect. Not too intrusive but made sure all our needs were met. We definitely are going to incorporate this place into our date nights. I wish I would have taken pictures of the food but I was just too excited to eat.
When you seat a single female, do you think: How can I make her meal extraordinary? Or do you think: it’s only one person, let’s hurry up and get her out of here so we can get more money for a 2 top? My review is split into three categories: 1. Food, 2. Service, 3. Experience. Even though I eat out by myself multiple times a week, I’m looking for places to take guests. I’m a single woman, so why should I stay home and eat rice by myself when I can enjoy good food? This place gets 5 stars for the presentation of Hello Kitty, and one star for the first drink getting me drunk. What if I only drink one drink because I don’t want to be intoxicate, because I’m alone and I have to be on my guard constantly? I ordered the second drink nonalcoholic, but the drink was gross! The steak kabob was amazing but the truffle fries needed flavor. Why was my only option ketchup? They are truffle fries for god sake. Blue cheese, Worcestershire, bbq sauce, pepper, anything but ketchup. My experience: The table across from me was celebrating a bridal party and got fun party favors and drinks. When I told my waiter, I’m celebrating too but I have no friends to celebrate with, he just looked at me and walked away. Dude: I’m a middle aged single woman. Come one. Ask me what I’m celebrating. Offer me a party favor or dessert. Give me a high five. 35 minutes into my uncomfortable dinner, I asked for the check and immediately put out my credit card. I’m not the only single female who goes out to eat by themselves, it should not take me asking three people to run my card. It should be a quick, painless transaction. Please be friendly to women who are brave enough to eat alone in public. It takes courage.
This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion or just because you feel like having a good meal. Service from Carmen was excellent, and I really recommend indulging in the tableside specialties. Johnathan did a great job with our Caesar salads, one of the best I've ever had, and with our bananas foster, which was also beyond delicious. This restaurant isn't afraid of pageantry and they do it well, the chatueabriand for two was also fabulous. Solid wine list for such a small restaurant as well.
