Pescador 1 - Santa Cruz de Tenerife

I felt like Rick Stein today (famous English travelling chef). Finding La Pescadora was a highlight of my time in Tenerife. I asked for the menu and the waiter shrugged his shoulders and said 'fish '... like 'what else '. I have dreamed of eating in restaurants like this, where the menu is what ever is fresh from the source. Such an unassuming little place, no frills, on the road, in a place which time has all but forgotten. What arrived was a plate piled high with garlic seasoned to perfect fish and the freshest salad I 've eaten in Spain. I 'm not big into 'flan ' as the Spanish call it, but this had an exquisite coconut flavour with a hint of lime. It was a perfect, long lunch. It 's always a tell tale sign of how good a restaurant is when I 'm the only foreigner. Can 't wait to go back for seconds.
