Cowell/stevenson Dining Hall

The views are fantastic, and the food is better than many other places on campus. They truly have flavorful dishes here, unlike some of the more bland options. Overall, the vibe at Obote is average, but the music could use improvement; it's mostly just lame tracks from artists like Taylor Swift and One Direction, and honestly, they’re not even the best selections.

Not the best dining hall on campus, but certainly beats Porter

The Cowell Stevenson dining hall has a nice selection of items that they always have, like the salad bar, milk and yogurt, breads and bagels, other spreads, and the sandwich bar. However some of the hot meals are sub par. On most days there are 2-4 items that are delicious and well made, and acceptable sides. On other days, there is nothing edible. The chicken always has a lot of bones, and some of the items are served twice it more in one week. The dining hall is also expensive for the quality of food compared to what you can get elsewhere.

I like my food fully cooked and preferably not tasting like plastic. If we're judging by human standards, I would give it 1 star. For pet food standards, maybe 2 stars? It really depends on the animal. But if we’re comparing it to dining hall food, I’d rate it a solid 3.75.

As a performer, I had a great time. The students were helpful in setting up the stage. The staff was friendly, helpful, easy to go, and very right happy even. It was a Mardi Gras event. So the place was decorated and colorful. We delivered NOLA-based Zydeco music, and we were pleasantly surprised to see actually (a few bold) people dancing in the spirit of tradition. I was even impressed by how close the food was to traditional Cajun food. It doesn't happen too often. BTW, the view was glorious. A very pleasant experience.
