Contribuiți la feedbackExcellent Sutbul (cooked over charcoal) Galbi, Suh-Dae-Goo-Ee (pan fried fish) Banchan (side dishes). Ohjingu Bokkeum (spicy stir fried squid) was ok, have had better in most other Korean restaurants. Samgyupsal (pork belly to be cooked over charcoal at table AFTER any beef) was not good. It doesn't even remotely resemble samgyupsal served in Korea, or LA, or NYC, or anywhere, in fact. Almost inedible samgyupsal, not due to freshness issue, just the taste is so bland, not rich w.pork fat, just chewy, tough, tasteless. Nonetheless a very good restaurant for a few of our favorite dishes, with excellent service, that's why we patron this restaurant, thank you.
I visited Charcoal Experience to try their charcoal KBBQ, and I was pleasantly surprised. They offer a standard selection of KBBQ meats, all of good quality, and they grill it right at your table. The use of charcoal really enhances the food with a delightful smoky flavor. The service was excellent, and everything was cooked to a perfect medium. They even trimmed away the tough tendon and ligament bits from the galbi bones, which made them even more enjoyable. If you order a sufficient amount of meat, they provide complimentary soybean soup, which was a lovely addition to the meal. I also loved their seafood pancake; it was incredibly thin and crispy. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, we left feeling satisfied. Definitely worth a visit! Just a note: their pork belly combos are only available late at night, not during regular dinner hours.
I would have rated it a perfect 5 stars if the tang had more flavor or if there were additional sauce options. However, the tofu salad was such a highlight that I ended up ordering an extra serving just for myself. One thing to consider is that they only offer a $200 late-night combo that includes four types of meat, tang, soju, and a baked egg tofu salad. It was a bit pricey for what we received, but it certainly filled us up. We were a bit disappointed since we arrived at 9 PM and were looking forward to trying more of their dishes, but we will definitely plan to come back earlier next time we’re in town.
We ordered the beef seafood soon soup, a seafood pancake, and seafood bibimbap. The seafood pancake was perfectly battered, resulting in an incredibly crispy texture. I appreciated that there was a higher ratio of seafood and green onions to batter, which made it even more enjoyable. The hot stone used for the bibimbap created perfectly scorched rice, which is my favorite part! The beef seafood soon soup was also delicious. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed all of our dishes, and we even requested some extra banchan! I'm really glad we chose to dine here for dinner. Although it specializes in BBQ, the non-BBQ options were fantastic! The service was quite good, too. Each table has a button that customers can press if they need help from the servers. The restaurant is located in a small plaza with very limited parking, and we usually find it challenging to find a spot during busy weekend hours. You might end up having to park on the street. There are also two unisex restroom stalls available.
The Sutbul (charcoal-grilled) Galbi was excellent, as were the Suh-Dae-Goo-Ee (pan-fried fish) and the banchan (side dishes). The Ohjingu Bokkeum (spicy stir-fried squid) was average; I've had better at many other Korean restaurants. Unfortunately, the Samgyupsal (pork belly meant to be grilled at the table after any beef) did not meet my expectations. It didn’t resemble the Samgyupsal served in Korea, LA, NYC, or anywhere else for that matter. What I received was nearly inedible—not because it was fresh, but because it was bland, lacking flavor, and tough. Despite this setback, the restaurant remains a good choice for some of our favorite dishes, and the service was excellent. That's why we continue to visit. Thank you!
