Ichiban - Santa Barbara

This sushi restaurant was fantastic! The staff were polite and the service was fast.

The takeout from this restaurant was excellent. We ordered over $100 worth of food and everything was fantastic. The chicken teriyaki was high quality and arrived hot. All of the sushi rolls were fresh and well-made. The service was exceptional, they accommodated all of our special requests. We will definitely be ordering from here again.

The food was average at best. The service was awful. The staff rushed us to order and then all the food came out quickly at once. They were talking loudly to each other, making it difficult for us to have a conversation. The sushi chef, who was in the middle of the restaurant, was coughing the entire time we were there. Even when we mentioned it, he didn't put on a mask. I will never dine here again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Not sure why the place doesn't have higher ratings. It's really good. It's conveniently located on the mesa on cliff drive. Their sushi is really good. I would say this is a top 5 place for sushi in Santa Barbara. Their california rolls are good, so are the spider and crunchy rolls. The atmosphere may not be the best as it is a little plain, but the food is good. Well worth it. I would give them a try if you're on the mesa. Parking: Lots of parking on the mesa

It's gone downhill, this once was a GREAT place, not anymore, my beef tasted old, was tough and chewy.
