Sarinana's - Santa Ana

This restaurant has a storied history and is a favorite among locals. I have to say, the enchilada plate was delicious, featuring a uniquely sweet sauce that set it apart. The hard shell tacos were good, but the shredded beef lacked flavor. We ordered a rajas tamal but received a pollo verde tamal instead. I didn’t mind the mix-up since I was going to eat it anyway, but unfortunately, the tamal was quite dry, which was disappointing. I had heard many positive reviews about the tamales, so this was not the experience I anticipated. I traveled from the Inland Empire to try this place, but I don’t think I would make that trip again.

As for the food, the albóndiga soup was bubbly and had a strong smell, making it unappetizing. The rice was mushy, and the tamales lacked flavor, with the sweet tamales not being sweet enough. The menudo was warm and acceptable in taste, while the birria was just okay. I spent $100 on our meal, and I truly regret that money was spent on food that was either subpar or merely decent. I will definitely not be returning. My backup option was In-N-Out burgers, which are always reliable and delicious no matter where you are!

This charming local restaurant has a rich history and plenty of character. The tamales and enchiladas are both unique and delicious. Although I'm not usually a fan of sweet and savory combinations, their enchilada sauce, which leans towards the sweeter side, really impressed me—it was quite intriguing. The hard-shell tacos were incredibly crunchy, and we also enjoyed a large hibiscus tea. I highly recommend visiting this place!

The flavor from 1939 is still alive in the food and service. A must place to experience true authentic Mexican food. Freshly prepared for every order. Don't be in a rush, just forget about time and travel back with this great place to eat.Kid-friendliness: A family restaurant for 80 years. And kids are still a part of the experience.

Wow great restaurant.. the tamales an hard shell tacos are delicious..Wet burrito is ok..Never seen so many white an Asian people at a Mexican spot lol..Worth trying ?
