Ocean and Vine at Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel

Such a disappointment. there for a romantic dinner with my friend, just to discover that she had brought the restaurant to the lobby area, so that the restaurant area could be used for private events. the new esbereich is like a pop-up coffee shop. not to mention, in the middle of a busy lobby, with guests coming and with luggage, etc. it is loud and full. we went to the pool area to relax and have only a drink to be met with blasclub like music. no way to have a conversation. we drove to the bar and decided to eat bare food there. the bartenders and cashbacks were so busy and understated that the service ended intermittently and badly not their fault. And then there are the prices! holy cow! very expensive for what could best be described as Denny's quality price. I loved the lowe’s and the fact that as a santa monica native there I could go for a delicious bite and good cocktail at the pool and watch the sunset and it was like a fun afterbarity secret. I will not return to that. it was a real disappointment.

Place is nice eating is great loved the music and the service was wonderful

Now, eating as soon as they did what we actually ordered was very good. that was silvester, and they had a prix fixe menu, $100 a teller. a bit steep, but at least within a reasonable selection of other options that we considered in the opposite. unfortunately the waiter did not listen carefully and put in the wrong order for my food. I had ordered the records, he brought fish for me and I, so they had to cook quickly. Once I got it, the act was one of the best I ever had. the ambiente is currently not existent. from januar 2020 the actual dining room is closed and they have some tables that are essentially in the lobby bar area, which is not very beautiful given the price.

Eating was okay. the service was slow. we will not be back.

This was a favorite for several years for Christmas Eve brunch with my dad. The move out to the atrium this year was not bad, as the decorations are absolutely lovely. I can adjust to that, although it feels a bit more casual out there. But the service was absolutely horrible. So disappointing. Coffee not left on the table anymore. I had to wait through most of my meal to get a refill. Orders imperfect. Much dripping of water and coffee by the server during pours. It's no longer a lovely dining experience.
