Dolcissimo Bakeshop - Santa Ana

We went there after dinner, and while we were waiting, my daughter expressed a desire to try a macaron to see if she liked it. The girl at the counter kindly checked to see if there were any broken ones available for tasting. She ended up giving my daughter a chocolate macaron for free, which I thought was a lovely gesture. The gelato was fantastic as well! My daughter loves this place, so we decided to come back!

I visited this place because getting milk from LA Macaroon for their ice sandwiches isn't always convenient. I found the Macaroon outside to be reasonably priced; it was freshly baked with a crispy shell and a light, gooey interior. I usually go to Afters for dessert, but the donuts there don't quite suit my taste, and the lines can get absurdly long. The one advantage Afters has over this place is its variety of ice creams. At Dolcissimo, they use a flat, round plate to serve vanilla ice cream, which they roll into the flavor you pick. It would be great to see other flavors available, like strawberry or mint. Personally, I prefer Macaroon to donuts, and I think this will become my new go-to spot for dessert.

The macaron ice sandwich is incredible! It's both crispy and soft. I tried the animal cookie flavor, and it was fantastic—not too sweet at all. I had it at the 626 Night Market, where the service was friendly and prompt, and the prices were reasonable. I'm really glad this was my first macaron experience!
