If the food had been something to write home, it would have been okay. Apart from the fact that you need to choose your food from shields on the wall instead of from a menu, and that you need to pick it up from a counter where other customers can wait in the line breathing and coughing on it, the food was not spectacular. This is especially a beautiful tourist trap.
We came to this restaurant for lunch directly on the beach of St. Peter-Ording. A great location, but all, really all service staff was very unfriendly and with although tones for all visitors, not just us. We felt on a military training camp instead of welcoming guests. On top food was quite expensive, not hot enough and taste was appalling. We will definitely not return. Is that a helpful review? An absolute Must to hang out and enjoy fantastic fish and sea food. A branch of the Sylt famous Gosch Restaurant, there are two in Sankt-Peter-Ording, and we tested both, however the one on the beach has better views, the one in town has better atmosphere because it’s smaller. The food options are veeeeery wide — there are so many fish dishes and seafood options that we had to come 4-5 times in these 2 weeks to try only the ones we really wanted. They also have a great wine menue which also makes it a great hangout place for after-dinner drinks with a group. Be sure to arrive ahead of dinner times, or thereafter so you can get a table if you’re more than four.
Really a fish and chip restaurant (in English terms) but with a German flavour. You order at the counter and get a pager that calls when your food is ready. All the fish is prepared freshly. For chips think Bratkartoffeln and many fish dishes have a generous sprinkling of Speck (bacon lardons), and what dish cannot be improved by bacon. Apologies to veggies!! At the opposite end to the food counter is the bar so you can get your choice of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails. Situated at the shore end of the pier overlooking the beach it is a good place to catch the sunset while having a good vale meal.
Ok, honestly why should a veggie drop in hear?! Business “dinner”... Pesto pasta which they normally serve with shrimps and gambas and bruschetta. It was a horrible convenient pesto from a big brand or so with sticky spaghetti. The bruschetta was ok... Beside the awful food, the smell was disgusting. Veggies stay away!!!! Fischi, if you read this please change the pesto!!!
