It was hard to tell. Either way, I only received two pieces. I should have checked before I left, but it was an order for 3 pieces of chicken so I didn't think I needed to. I'm pretty sure it was the manager on duty that packed my food. They weren't busy, I didn't go back because it would have more less convenient to do so than to just deal with paying for food I didn't receive. I don't live up that way or near an El Pollo Loco at all, so it's not somewhere I'll likely go back to although the chicken itself was good.
Food is great, atmosphere is mixed crowd from single people to large (8+ people including children). Only improvement I could suggest is is having the person who calls the name when food is ready to pickup, have a louder voice and enunciation. I noticed the majority of patrons were confused about who's name was called.
On my way to work and I decided to stop at this El Polo Loco location. I had never been to this location before. It was after the lunch rush had come through for the day. Walked into the location and I see an employee mopping the floors in front but no one at the register. I take a minute to decide on my order and then stood at the cash register waiting to order. No one there. There was 2 cooks I could clearly see and the woman still Mopping the floors. I politely ask if anyone is available to take my order, no response from anyone. Nothing. They all just stare at me. Stood for another 5-7minutes waiting for someone to help me but still nothing. I now ask a cook if anyone is available to take my order. He starts talking to the other cook and completely ignore me. I wait another 5min thinking someone would come shortly. It was the oddest experience I’ve had. Left with no food and don’t plan on ever coming back.
My churros were covered in salt, not sugar!???? It took a total of 40 minutes from time we order until we got the order curbside, in which case w head to go inside. The order was sitting on the counter. Who knows how much longer it would have stayed there if we didn’t go inside. Plus they gave us the wrong stuff. This place is incredibly inconsistent with quality of service and food.
The citrus grilled chicken is ALWAYS fantastic! The guacamole was just right for both dipping and putting-in with my tortillas. My only complaint is related to the tortillas. First, I was asked what type of tortillas, corn or flour,... I said flour. I got two corn tortillas. Okay, I can live with that. But 3 piece chicken meal should have at least 3 tortillas (probably 5), but definitely more than two.
