Sandwich Taverna

This restaurant came highly recommended, but our experience was disappointing. Despite being warned by a waitress that it would take some time to be served, we had to wait 45 minutes for our food after ordering. The air conditioning wasn't working and it was 92 degrees outside, making for an uncomfortable dining environment. Despite the busy atmosphere and many waitresses, it seemed there was no cook available. We decided to leave without our food as we were hungry and uncomfortable. We only ended up paying for our drinks and will not be returning.

For 20 years I visited this restaurant and it will be 20 years (or more) before I go back. my wife ordered the meat leaf with potatoes and coleslaw. the only thing she liked was the koleslawin. I tried some meat-leaved, it was very salty. so bad she couldn't eat more than a few bites. I ordered the taverna steak tips with potato and butternut quash. I ordered them medium with some pink what I got were burned, crispy, carburized tips with pink inside. whatever seasoned and marinade they were applied was not noticeable - the grilled bark taste was hardly noticeable. the chef replaced my Butternuss quash with mais (without asking if there was anything else I would like.) as it turned out, the mais was the best part of my meal. we didn't eat much, so we ordered dessert. our server has swung around her homemade cake. the cake we have received is perhaps homemade, but not recently. it has been clearly frozen and stabbed. our server was attentive. the restaurant was clean. the bathroom was clean. our bill came to $85 (with tip $100) for a meal we don't enjoy. Maybe it was our food choice, maybe not. I tried a court with her name on it and was very disappointed. there are many other meal options to try. Maybe that would be better. but I would not recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Ordered a Reuben sandwich for take out, it came with coleslaw on the sandwich. So foul. ??I literally don't know anyone that likes or even eats coleslaw, it's gross. Ps, I'm a year round local, thanks for the reminder why I don't eat there.

It was a 5 star not because of the food or atmosphere but my server Jeanie was AWESOME she is simply the best I’ve never felt so welcome like how she made me feel…my daughter loved her too because she went above and beyond to make us comfortable

Much better than past years. Glad to see significant improvement, try the pork chops and play some keno! Friendly staff and good atmosphere
