We walked around San Teodoro and came across this restaurant . It looked reasonable busy as was the case with most restaurants in the town. The restaurant is set in a nice square and a little quieter noise wise that some other restaurants. It described itself as a restaurant/ pizzeria. We ordered a ravioli dish and a ham and mushroom pizza. (Menu only in Italian so used google translate on our phone which is fine as we are in Italy and not England Ravioli dish came our first and had to wait around 5 mins for the pizza to turn up. As I went to cut into the pizza (it was not sliced by the chef there was a lot of fluid on the pizza . We called over the waitress and pointed this out. She didn’t seem concerned nor apologetic. Waiter came over who could speak English. I explained the pizza was wet and needed to be cooked longer . He said ok, you want it “over cooked”..Pizza turned up again (don’t know if it was fresh or the original as I hardly touched the first pizza and the waiter showed me the pizza and tried to explain that they don’t use normal mozzarella cheese and what they use is wetter . I said I would give it a go . I tilted up the pizza and the whole topping shifted to where I tilted the plate . Tried to eat some of it , around a quarter and mostly around the edges where the pizza was drier . I left the rest. We had planned to share the pizza and ravioli but you could not spice the pizza and pass a piece over without the topping ending up on the table. Maybe I should have asked for a spoon or straw to tackle the pizza. Are you not suppose to be able to eat pizza with your hands or am I missing something. I’ve travel abroad to many places and to Italy a number of times and enjoyed great pizza’s. This was by far the worse pizza I have ever had. In fairness the staff were good and did not charge for the pizza . We paid the rest of bill and left .
Looks like the other places and is equally rushed, but the food is really good with a few gems, they have OK wines and the service is really good
Damp Friday night out of main tourist season. The waitress was nice and friendly, the meal was OK, 73 euros is a lot to pay for pizza, pasta and a bottle of wine. The aperol spritz were good and it was nice that it came with snacks.
I always go there for icecream cups which are delicious. Today I tried the food and was superb. I highly recommend this place. The owner is very friendly.
