San Simeon Beach Grill

Here's a scam! Came here on Saturday, 26 November at 12 noon and my parents ordered some wine while I asked for a cocktail list as the bar was full of people watching the FIFA game. My parents were served the wrong wine and I was told that NO BARTENDER was available in the restaurant or bar. This place has literally bar and barbecue in its name, but has no bartender and therefore no cocktails, simply overpriced beer and overpriced wine. $17.95 for an appetizer Quesadilla. $17.95 for fish and chips. $13.95 for a Veggie burger . $26.95 for a 12 inch Hawaiian or sour pizza. This place has moved my inner Jews and I am angry at the high prices for moderate service and food. I only ordered not to blaze my parents, but if I had the choice to starve for the day or eat in this place, I would go hungry. Fish and chips were not bad, but were also not great, probably a 5-6/10. Should have been $12, but instead it was only about $18. End price for our LIGHT meal of two glasses of wine, two fish and chips and one shrimp and chips, was $75 without tip!!! The service was moderate and despite not even half capacity, this bar and grill was less attractive than a Denny 's and more expensive than a quality stone house. No thanks, never again! Avoid this place and go somewhere else; save your time, your money and your dignity.

The service was fantastic?super nice folks (we ordered takeout). We ordered a pizza, salad, mozzarella sticks and bread. The pizza was OK, but is quite overpriced for what you get. Mozzarella sticks reminded me of something you can get from the freezer section at grocery store, but my kiddo liked them. Salad was basic, but good?lovely dressing. My kiddo ate all the bread?loved it?so I can?t speak to that. ?

The hotel we are staying at gave us a 10% discount card for this restaurant. So we had breakfast here. The restaurant has a nice breakfast selection. They serve breakfast until 11:00am. The food was not bad. Not spectacular but decent. The portions are adequate too. They made our orders just right. We were shown the lunch or dinner menu so I can't comment on that. The service was just ok. The waitress was nice. She was young and seemed not too much into customer service, rather just getting the job done. I would come back for a quick lunch or dinner

Went to Hearst hoping they had tri tip sandwiches but remodeling only had crackers cheese items wine tasting. Went to San Simeon split a cheese burger fries calamari. Both were very good.

Had a nice dinner outside on the patio. They have a nice wind protected outdoor area with a nice view of the ocean. Plenty of parking and a full bar! The staff is really friendly and the.food and drinks were yummy. The prawns Rockefeller were awesome and the fish and chips hit the spot. Stop in and enjoy!
