El Fortin De San Sebastian

It's the only place I've eaten in San Sebastián so I can only compare it to other places in Mexico. I had the Chile con carne. Was underwhelming. Refried beans were runny. The corn tortillas were a bright spot. Prices seemed high for what it is but that may be throughout the town Update**i have visited other places.. El Fortín was the least favorite.

A cafe right by the square w few outside tables. They have some homemade nut butters, fruit preserves, cookies souvenirs like magnets key chains. Their Mexican cookies are incredible; they do carry full menu. CC accepted

Not too many options in this town so El Fortin is big here. Amazing coffee, pizza and the corn tart for dessert is a must. Outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful pueblo magico Oh and do yourself a favor a walk towards the local ice cream place-amazing tamarindo hielito with chamoy-the best.

Our tour stopped here and we were able to try five to six different dishes. They all were very mediocre . The chili seemed like it came from a can, the curry chicken and plain white rice was blah, the corn dish way too sweet, the Hawaiian pizza was dreadful, the rolls were flavorless, the tortillas cold, the beer came in a can and served with no glass This is why I hate tours. You get stuck at places that don't even try to serve decent food We drove from puerto Vallarta and first stop was a bakery that had awesome food and coffee. Then to tequila tour that had way over priced Tequila that you can get cheaper elsewhere. Then to some weird coffee spot that also sold over priced coffee beans Fortunately walking thru town I broke away from group and got a honey for $1 at a little market. That's where all the good deals are.

Located in the center of San Sebastián, El Fortin cafe is a cozy little place where you can purchase local souvenirs, order some food or drinks. Free wifi was available but slow. I was thankful to get some sort of connection since many areas still do not have Internet or cellular service in this part of Mexico. Facility was clean and staff was friendly.
