The Pearl - San Roque

Used to eat here with my family a few years ago. When I moved locally, I was looking forward to eating here weekly. Arrived to find out that it had been taken over, no problem, menu was good, service okay. But they are now offering...shisha! Tables with shisha pipes! This is no longer a family restaurant. Truly disappointing what people will do for money!

A very hot afternoon, stopped for drinks and nibbles. Tortilla chips were excellent, warm and appeared freshly cooked. They were really first class and not what was anticipated at all. Two rounds of tortilla chips and four glasses of white wine came to just which seemed OK. Staff had little or no English but we got by. Would have been a higher rating but .... one of our party had ice in her wine (I know serves her right and commented that there was an odd taste. That evening she was quite ill. Could be a coincidence but enquiry of locals suggests that this might not be an isolated occurrence. On balance I would say OK for a drink (unadulterated by ice) but perhaps take care on the food side? It is a convenient place to sit and watch the boats go by on a summer afternoon.

Very very upsetting and dissapointing. We organised a suprise for my dad months In advance. Paid upfront a week before for food drink. They took all details of the times we would be there and the band ect. Come the day...the venue was closed. Nobody was answering to calls or messages. If it was not for some friends that had the actual owners number who was abroad we would not heard from anyone. Eventually after the band and ourselves waiting the guy turned up but apparently he had no intention of opening that night just taking our money and leaving.he had no interest at all. We did not get half the menu we ordered as apparently there was no food in the chef had to go buy bits. We was supposed to have food at and drabs came out still at but we never received the full menu after having to ask numerous times. We had people we did not even know eating and drinking the items.we asked for table clothes which he replied do you really need them. Then got some and threw them on a chair so my sister had to put them on the dirty tables. We never got our wine the confetti Cannon. or the drink I ordered for guests that only drank guinness. On the menu we paid for my dad was supposed to get a complimentary bottle of Jack Daniels which he never received. The band had set up outside then for security to come and tell us it was not aloud which the guy knew about but told us the opposite when we booked and that it had to be inside so that was a mess having to get everything moved inside when my dad was there so no suprise for him at all!! Everytime we tried to buy a drink he had no change and was just putting money in his pocket and saying ill give u change later which he never did. I asked for some money back as the event was totally ruined. He stood there and argued with me. I was in tears as could not believe what was happening. He was putting ice in people's drinks with his hands. He cut the cake then proceeded to pick it all up with his dirty hands and put it on bar napkins as he would not bring plates then nobody wanted it after he had his hands all over it.Then walked off eating my dad's cake!! All in all absolutely discusted and none of us or friends would ever go there again. Complete waste of and they managed to ruin which should of been a special evening with no compensation or a sorry.

Have been twice. Gave it a second try in hopes of our first visit being a bad day And since they have live music i was really hoping it would also be a place we could go for dinner. Its not. Our first visit was...with friends. We all went for different types of burgers since they said it was the best in Sotogrande. They managed to screw up all burgers. My burger was missing of ingredients. All others was also missing key toppings. The home made sauce was a ketchup mix. day: Same story all over again. dishes was wrong. When we told the waiter about the faults he just said they where missing some ingredients. No more explanations. They have live music and that is nice.

Dropped in for a drink when visiting the Sunday market. What a beautiful location a very nice bar/restaurant. We weren't given the most welcoming of greetings when we revealed that we weren't going to be eating. We ordered drinks for added of fries. Only bowl appeared then a long long wait for drinks. Then we ordered another fries had a lengthy wait. Could have great potential if it upped it's service game.
