Jaguar Negro - San Rafael

A friend recommended this place for dinner when we stopped in San Jose for one night before we fly home the next day. It wasn't disappointed and was a fantastic evening. We were able to get a table without reservation, but I recommend doing one if you plan on running. The service was amazing from host to server. Our food was delicious, full of taste and cooked for perfection. They had a lot of unique dishes and really combined natural flavors well. The ambience and the furnishings were also really cool. It's in the outskirts, but it's definitely worth a trip when you're in the area.

Above and beyond my expectations. Some of the best foods and definitely the best service I have ever experienced in Costa Rica! 9 of us shared 9 different dishes and no one disappointed. That's my 10/10 voice!

The place is beautiful, the margaritas had a good taste. The service was very bad, it took more than 40 minutes to arrive at 2 tacos, I wanted to ask the waiter on a dessert and he told me that he had to remove all the dishes before he took the order so that he would go and forget. If you ask another waiter for help, he will lead you to the same that does not serve you. Even so I ordered Dessert, and since it took a long time, I asked her to cancel it so they got angry. The food does not have this native Mexican taste and it is really expensive. The couple on the table next to us had to stand up because nobody served them

Only rating 4 stars because it was expensive. Did not see the value in $200 for 2 people. Other than that, food was excellent and unique. You also had a great presentation. And the ambience was fantastic.

Really like the look of the place, but the food was not the best unfortunately. To start we had chicharon de pulpo which was overcooked in my opinion. For main dish i had grielled Prawns with black rice, look really nice but was nothing extra, when i eat a 30$ dish i expect something what at least i would recommend to my friends to try if they are in town. The service was nice, overall the atmosphere was really nice just was not satisfied with the food. I would return to find out if it was a just bad luck or the food what thry serve is just not my taste.
