Taqueria Cancun - San Rafael

I visited the restaurant hoping to try the vegan asada, but I had to scroll down to find out that it was unavailable. We ordered the veggie burritos, which had a nice flavor and were quite filling, even though they forgot to include the guacamole that should have come with them. The salsa tasted fresh. Overall, it was decent, but nothing exceptional for a vegan meal.

I visited this restaurant before I became vegan, and when they introduced their meatless asada, I couldn't resist coming back to try it. They have always been great at avoiding animal products whenever possible. Their rice and beans have consistently been vegetarian, yet they are packed with flavor. I'm thrilled to find delicious vegan asada options available. They truly know how to cook. It's refreshing to be able to order something vegan that tastes fantastic instead of just mediocre.

No matter what you order at this restaurant, even if you request no lard in the beans, no cheese, and no crema—essentially no animal products at all—your tortillas will still be placed on a griddle saturated with animal fat. It seems impossible to get a truly animal-free meal here. Updated from my previous review on September 2, 2023.
