New Especias - San Miguel de Cozumel

I ordered food delivered by New Especias, and after reading good reviews for over a year, I have to say I 'm just astonished at the results. I requested white bean cream with shrimp appetizer a little over 10 dollars and it looks really delicious on the online menu, a bowl loaded with white beans (faglioni bianchi) and numerous shrimps and luscious cream sauce. What you actually GET is a 10 dollar CUP (not a bowl, a cup) of delicious bean broth with exactly 2 shrimps and 5 beans. It 's not even a huge mug of yummy bean/shrimp broth. It 's about 10 oz. The creme brulee with ginger and pistachio I was REALLY looking forward to. OOOPS. Just look at that photo of theirs! Deep fluffy custard with crusty brulee and a load of ginger and pistachios on top! OOOOh yum. [not. What they actually serve up is a few bites of decent custard with a crusty flamed sugar top. No ginger. No pistachio AT ALL. None of that other deliciousness in their photo, just a few bites of sugar flamed custard. That 's it. So I messaged them not longer after I ate this (in disbelief). It was tasty for sure, but a big shock in deceptive advertising. Their response? Nothing. When I inquired again a couple days later, their response was Seriously. A heart. I asked once more, and their response was Good afternoon madame, I 'm sorry for your bad experience. ... WELL, madame certainly won 't ever order or go in there again.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. By far the best restaurant in Cozumel! Authentic Italian food and Chef/ Owner from Rome! SO delicious- and excellent wine selection. The venue is upstairs with a lovely breeze and balcony also. The food is heavenly- I highly, highly recommend the Carbonara and the Lionfish Gnocchi! We went there 3 times on our week long trip- we just had to keep coming back. Also, the staff is exceptional! Just an all around fantastic experience. Thank you, Francesco! We will be back as soon as we can!
