As invited to brunch, we went back several times. do not skip this place!
For a nightcap. the drinks were made very bad and the service was just as bad. I didn't try to eat it so I might have shot it again.
This is the place to get a real Mezcal experience in san miguel. alejandro explained a very spiritual connection to earth and drink of mezcal. it is not about alcohol, like tequila, but more about the work of the land and the feeling, how...and why we grow delicious and soulful plants with which we live. fantastic seafood options are baked oysters with spinach and tasteful cheese. thunfischtar with olive, avocado, habanero meets the brand. Among the fantastic drinks are pulque, which is so refreshing, and various cocktails with mezcal.
We had been here 3-4 times over the last 8 years and though a little pricey, enjoyed each occasion. The last time we went was about 3-4 years ago. Prices are now substantially higher, portions far smaller. One example: under the stuff to share section...(not cheap) we opted for the shrimp. We were LITERALLY served 3 shrimps and 4 empty shrimp heads with a bunch of cooked cherry tomatoes and spices swimming in oil. Really? How the heck does one share that. Oh … I will take the tail and you can have an empty head? The margaritas were tasty, IF you like yours “light,” as in Shirley Temple light. Nothing at all special about the rest of what we ordered. Two drinks, 2 small food items and the shrimp with no tip was almost 1400 pesos. Disappointing. We really miss who they used to be …
The place was very modern. The house mezcals were terrific. The food was really great. It was a great evening spent with drinks and dinner. The staff was a bit cold but eventually wermed up to us
