Contribuiți la feedbackWe went there on a Monday and were the only people who eat there this evening. because reservations are required, they opened the restaurant only for us. only one person spoke English, but that was not a problem because all service and kitchen staff. were extremely gregarious and helpful. there were more personal than diners. starter included some wonderful steamed mushes and the best fried boquerones I had. for our main courses we had some steamed gambas and a court of basau and tomato sauce. both were excellent. very comfortable and relaxing.
Who lives in the neighbourhood of san antonio in san miguel de allende (or even close) should know about this great place! we simply moved into this area and were there several times, and each time we eat good, good service and. special attention from the owner. the menu includes pizzas, pastas, salads, paella and breakfast in the morning. the owner is quite generous with the cafe america refills when he comes around and checks how they do it, and if they want something else. I was there to work with customers and have coffee, and the atmosphere was helpful for talks and eating at the same time. I was also there for dinner with my husband, and we enjoyed very much. the pizzas are delicious, freshly baked and have good and original toppings. the wee superb! the current listing here on trip advisor shows the old address on hernandez macias, but we are on the place 28 de abril (at umaran) in san antonio.
Positive TA reviews led us to reserve at this tiny store/restaurant. We were asked to place our diner order the day before as we made our reservation. Ordering the signature seafood paella for two, we were disappointed with an overcooked presentation of dry coloured rice...and equally dry seafood. Arriving at 7pm, my husband and I were the only patrons during the entire evening in the sparse space. A few tiny nondescript tables and chairs, sit in a gloomy room lined with rudimentary shelves displaying the various conserves available for purchase. A small radio was barely audible as it directed sound for the entertainment of the kitchen staff. A man (owners buddy? standing at the rustic bar/cash, would occasionally attend our table to top up our wine. Odd evening. Uncomfortable. AVOID!
