La Cartuja - San Miguel de Allende

¡Experiencia maravillosa! Hace 12 años descubrí este restaurante. La atención siempre es personalizada y el propio dueño es quien te recibe. El concepto es diferente a un restaurante convencional: es un comedor con platos de origen español exclusivamente y no hay menú. Jesús, el fundador y propietario, explica el concepto a los nuevos comensales y les deja elegir si lo aceptan o se retiran. Jesús ofrece entradas, siendo los garbanzos a la catalana los más deliciosos en esta ocasión. Como platos principales, había conejo riojano, lengua de ternera a la montañeza, callos a la andaluza y solomillo, entre otros. Con 63 años en el negocio, se nota la experiencia en su atención y en sus conversaciones increíbles. Sin duda, volveré cada vez que visite San Miguel de Allende.

The service was extremely good, the food was tasty but expensive, and the menu is just four dishes, one of those four was already unavailable.

I was told by two people I trusted that it was a great place but it was obvious from the moment we walked in that it was way too hot .I was sweating within ten minutes. The meal started with processed ham, goat cheese and canned mushrooms and the main coarse must have been gathered leftovers from the week before because it was so bad that no one ate anything. The owner didn't ask why no one ate anything or seem to care. All four people in my party agreed it was the worst place they have ever eaten. I would never go back there again even if it was free. I felt cheated because it was clear that the mom and pop operation was too lazy to cook that night.
