Dim Sum Usa - San Mateo

We frequently visit this restaurant and always order the xiao long bao, which is fantastic. Everything we've tried here has been amazing, including the Chinese sandwiches and pig dumplings. The hostess at the entrance is also very friendly and accommodating.

I often saw good reviews about this restaurant online, so I decided to give it a try since it's located in my city. Unfortunately, I think I might be allergic to something I ate there. It’s now 3 a.m., and I’m still feeling unwell after dining at 8 p.m. last night. I had to take 4-6 antihistamines and drink plenty of water. Every time I try to lie down, I can’t sleep properly; I struggle to swallow and end up coughing and feeling like my food isn’t digesting well in my throat. I had to sit up instead, and the only thing I’ve consumed was some dizzying chicken knuckles with pickles. This negative reaction happens every time I eat here. I won't be returning to this restaurant again, as I've eaten at many places before without having such a bad reaction, including other Chinese restaurants that I know.

This is a fantastic spot for a quick bite on the go, and it's even better for stocking up on delicious frozen dumplings to keep in my freezer.

We bumped into this new place during its soft opening . The owners are from Hong Kong and very friendly. More importantly, the food is GREAT and priced reasonably. We like to pick up frozen dumplings from various dumpling places for those lazy nights when we are too tired to cook. We tried Dim Sum USA 's frozen dumpling and the beef pancake. I found the food much more refined, the dumpling skins are just right not too thick and not too thin, the ingredients is juicy and tasty. When we were there, we saw someone eating the pork bun there and it looks super good as well. In my opinion, the place beats other popular dumpling places like Town of Dumpling in San Mateo or Panda Dumpling in San Carlos hands down. Highly recommend!
