Charlie's Taqueria - San Mateo

I discovered this restaurant on Google and decided to give it a try based on the positive reviews. I admired the Mexican ambiance and decor of the place. The hostess/server was attentive and friendly. I appreciated the complimentary chips, salsa, peppers, and radish bar. The Tostada was simple yet delicious. One dish was enough for the two of us, especially with the complimentary chips and salsa. This is a great spot to experience authentic Mexican cuisine. The prices are reasonable, the food is tasty, and the service is quick.

The super shrimp burrito I got was huge. Probably the heaviest burrito I've ever eaten. It was delicious. They have complimentary chips and salsa too. Overall, great bang for your buck and the food is very good.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while craving tacos and were pleasantly surprised. The menudo was delicious, perfectly seasoned, and served with warm tortillas. We will definitely be returning soon.

The food was good and they offered unlimited chips. However, I was disappointed with the small amount of beef on the taco salad; it seemed like a child-sized portion. Unfortunately, they can no longer offer lengua due to rising prices caused by inflation and strict government lockdowns and mandates that have disrupted the domestic supply chain.
