Dickey's Barbecue Pit - San Marcos

We used to visit this place regularly, but something has clearly changed recently. It seems like many menu items are no longer available, and their prices have increased significantly compared to other locations. It's also unusual to see familiar staff members there anymore, so I suspect we're not the only customers who have encountered issues at this restaurant.

I ordered online after receiving an email offer for a free barbecue sandwich. However, when I arrived at the restaurant, I found out they don’t accept those coupons. I’m not sure where the miscommunication happened, but I was disappointed to find that my order hadn’t been prepared even though I had received confirmation. Overall, it wasn’t a pleasant experience.

I had the worst restaurant experience ever. The cashier was rude, and when I inquired about the manager, I was told he’s hardly ever on site. I saw employees rolling their eyes at my questions and was left bewildered as to why a family was charged two unknown taxes of $6.50 each for a takeout order. None of the staff could provide an explanation! It was incredibly frustrating. I recommend asking questions and reaching out to corporate about this. Apparently, we were told that the owner is not affiliated with the franchise, so we have to pay these franchise fees. Is that even reasonable?

A Frito Pie ordered. Spicy bbq sauce and chips is all I have. I'd rather go back to live on the streets and whisper the garbage from others, then put the Frito Pie back in my mouth. No brisket chili or beans only brisket with spicy grill sauce and frito chips. No cheese. Fire all that was on layer or this place will fail as the nordahl site did.

Portions are nice but that?s about the only positive. If you?ve never had good bbq, you?ll probably like it. Sadly the pulled pork was very dry and the sauces weren?t great. If you?re in this shopping center, I?d give Mr. Taco your money instead
