Contribuiți la feedbackWe went with Italian friends for lunch at this lovely hotel in San Lorenzo in Campo. We had the set lunchtime menu which started at €16 for one course including wine coffee. We had a two course meal. There was plenty of choice including a fish option. Service was discreet and friendly. Food was excellent and well presented. Portion sizes were really good, food was very good quality and cooked to perfection. The mixed grill was amazing! The wine choices were excellent. Prices were very reasonable especially as the portions are good. You will not be disappointed with the ambiance or the food at the lovely hotel. Only thing that I felt needed to be considered was, no salt or pepper on table. No oil or cheese offered with the pasta course. It was provided quickly when we asked for it. Personal choice I know
Based upon the recommendation of a friend, we drove out of our way to try this restaurant and it was well worth the drive! The hosts, Massimo and Patrizia, have created a wonderful restaurant with a large variety of plates. For starters, we tried the involtini di melanzane ripiene di ricotta e pecorino con di sapa, the rosa di filetto con pere e mandorle in emulsione di acetone balsamico, torsion di zucca con fondutina di casciotta di Urbino semi croccanti e amaretti, and the rotolo di branzino con panna acida a “paccasassi.” Each starter was cooked perfectly and the presentation and service was impeccable. For our main course, we had tagliolino con ragu bianco di anatra carciofi, il nostro tortellino chiuso a mano con funghi porcini tartufo nero e noci, fagottino di carbonaro invertita su crema di panna acida guincale al profumo di rosmarino and finally, tagliolino con ragu bianco con tartufo nero e piccione. Each of these entrees were as carefully and as meticulously prepared and presented as the starters. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauces were balanced so the meals were most enjoyable. We tried their world famous gelato (there’s a reason it’s world famous) and their sfogliatina tiepida di farina tipo 2 alla crema (fantastic). Patrizia speaks English fluently. Off the beaten path but well-worth the drive!
Not the typical restaurant in the region, but somewhat higher level, although the prices remain very acceptable. We ate here twice (as we stayed in the hotel), and both of them were pleasant experiences. Unfortunately, the first evening, there were only few people (there was only one other table, with only one guest), the second evening there were more, but still far from full. Food is really delicious : typical for the region, but as mentioned before, a higher level than may other places. Strange as it may be, but this place is not open in the week-end (at least not when we stayed there)
A moment of absolute enjoyment for the palate as well as the usual refinement elegance and familiarity
Well-kept local, kind and professional staff, kitchen at the height of expectations, in perfect harmony with the context of the premises. .
