Contribuiți la feedbackThe food at this restaurant is excellent. The staff is very attentive, constantly refilling our tea pot with water. I would definitely return to try more dishes from the menu. Overall rating for the food: 5 out of 5.
We decided to give this xiao long bao restaurant a try. While some people here have reviewed the Chinese dishes, we felt it was necessary to sample their specialty - xiao long bao (soup dumplings). We ordered the pan fried pork buns, crab xiao long bao, and beef sandwich. The beef sandwich was a 9/10, with a flaky scallion pancake and flavorful sauce, although more beef would have been appreciated. The pan-fried pork buns were a standout at 100/10 - large, juicy, and incredibly meaty with a perfect balance of textures. The crab xiao long bao were well-made, with intact soup dumplings and delicious flavors, although a bit more soup would have been nice. Overall, the prices at this restaurant are very reasonable compared to other xiao long bao spots in San Francisco. Our total for 3 dishes was $29, making it a great value. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
During a visit to San Leandro for a festival, we stumbled upon a restaurant offering our favorite pork and pickled green noodle soup. After enjoying the festival activities, we made our way to the restaurant, just a few blocks away. Despite the warm weather, we walked to the restaurant and were promptly seated. We ordered the pork and pickled green noodle soup, along with two different dumplings and a hot and sour soup for myself to cool down. The soups arrived first, followed by the dumplings. The noodle soup was exceptional, with a clear yet rich flavor and thick udon-like noodles. It was so good that I would definitely order two bowls on my next visit. The vegetable dumpling, packed with greens, was a family favorite. It held its contents well and paired perfectly with black vinegar. While the juicy pork and cabbage dumpling was also enjoyable, the standout was the vegetable dumpling. The hot and sour soup, though initially seeming to lack a flavor, grew more flavorful with each sip. This may have been due to our salt-deprived state from the heat. Overall, the meal was a delightful experience that left us eager to return.
A bit of a let down with the only notable dish being the pan fried pork buns. My friends and I arrived around lunchtime on a Wednesday and it was fairly empty inside at the time. For 3 people, we ordered 5 dishes. XLB soup dumplings just ok. Not very flavorful and the skin was a bit on the mushy sideWonton in spicy peanut sauce not spicy at all and the sauce was a bit wateryGreen beans definitely not flash fried. Oily and limpVegetable dumplings these were good but not mind blowing Pan fried pork dumplings these were the last to come out and we all agreed the only thing we'd order again from here. In fact, we wanted to order another round but didn't want to have to wait that long for them. Bottom line, come here for the pan fried pork dumplings and skip the other dim sum dishes.
This place is great. The price is reasonable and the food is filling, but at the end of the day, this is a dumpling place with food that's good, but ambiance lacking. While I enjoyed the soup dumpling, the skin was a bit dry on my end. For the pan friend dumpling, it's could use slightly more filling. Beware the spicy wontons because it's very peanut-forward.
