Contribuiți la feedbackThe bread is good but pricey, the service is okay. The food not so good, I was disappointed by the pupusas. I've had pupusas at other places and this one is not a very good one. The revueltas you can't even taste the pork is mostly beans with mix vegetables. They don't even supposed to have vegetables anyway I won't be ordering food from there, just the bread for me.
Bean and cheese pupusas. When I'm eating these, I feel like Patrick when he ate his chocolate bar and forgot cause he just wanted More. I think it's cause they're not hella oily and the filling ratio is good. Curtido is also good. They have a major bread selection too. Definitely worth a visit. Try it!
I usually go to the Laney flea market on Sundays for pupusas but when it's raining I come here instead. Make sure to come a little early since it takes about 20-25 mins to get your freshly made popusas. The Popusas are tasty! They have a huge selection of bread which you can eat while you wait for your food to be prepared. I tried their horchata which tasted quite different from ones I've tried. It had its unique flavor. I also tried their milkshakes which were pretty good. Overall I give this place a 4/5 just because I feel like they should fill up their popusas a bit more.
The baked goods here are 5 stars! DELICIOUS!! The bread pudding is to die for! If you are in the area definitely grab a box of baked goodies, you won't be disappointed. The prices are very fair for their baked goods. Now to the pupusas. Mind you my grandmother owned her own pupseria in El Salvador and in Los Angeles, so I know a good pupusa! The pupusas here are on the verge of being the best in the east bay if they just add a bit more filling. When I visited the flavor was on point but it was just too much masa and not enough filling. I also suggest eating there at the restaurant because if you take it home you'll end up with a soggy pupusa due to the condensation from being in a small box while piping hot. I also had the yucca con chicharron fried cassava and pork rinds) which was a 3 at best. The yucca had no flavor and the chicharron was tough and dry.The service here is not the best and the staff can come off as rude. I was in line to place my order and was completely ignored, another customer walked in after me and their order was taken before mine. I had been there waiting for the past 5 10 minutes. The prices are fair $3 per pupusa) but would maybe suggest upping it to factor in more filling in the pupusas.
Not impressed with pupusas. Size price of pupusas were the standard. However the masa was dry. Very little filling. In fact many bites of pupusas were just masa. A few positive notes, curtido was good as was the service and the business is definitely Salvadorean. I called in advance and food was ready when I arrived. I will stick to Rositas in Newark for pupusas and may try this place again for pandulce and other Salvadorean goodies.
