L'hirondelle - San Juan Capistrano

It was our first visit to the restaurant, and we were impressed by the impeccable service and exceptional food. The patio provided a lovely atmosphere, enhanced by the soothing sound of the fountain and beautiful lighting. It turned out to be the perfect venue for an engagement dinner. I proposed, and she said YES!! It truly felt like a magical night. A huge thank you to Josh and his lovely wife, Leona, for making our evening so comfortable. Their kindness and attentive service will always be remembered and appreciated. Thank you for everything you did for us!

We drove 130 miles round trip to celebrate our anniversary, and our evening far surpassed our expectations. The escargot was delightful, the hot bacon spinach salad was impeccable, and the roasted duck with orange sauce was exceptional. There are so many other tempting dishes on the menu that we'll have to plan another visit, or several! Many cherished memories of fine dining were rekindled. Valerie and Travis Montgomery

I recently dined at L'Hirondelle with my mom on a Wednesday evening, and we had a wonderful experience! It's a classic, quintessential restaurant: charming ambiance, excellent service, and exquisite food. It felt like something out of "Mastering the Art of French Cooking." My mom ordered the beef bourguignon, while I opted for the scallops, which were absolutely perfect. Of course, it didn't hurt that the drink servings were quite generous...

I was really hungry when we got here. Served us bread which was warm and fresh. So good that we all consumed 1 basket per person (about 4 slices per basket). Their calamari steak is excellent! It is not available every time...just ask your host if you can order and they'll check with the kitchen.

This place is such a quaint spot right across from the Mission. We met here with family from LA since this was a decent middle point. The food and service did not disappoint. This was real French cuisine made with fresh ingredients which always make food taste better. The wine list was great too. We will definitely return.
