J J's Homemade Burgers

Next, the service was fast and friendly, which is a definite plus. But now, onto the food and prices. This place is expensive. If you’ve been to Islands Burger in Monterey, the prices here are comparable. I paid $20 for a 1/3 lb cheeseburger and a generous portion of onion rings. This experience made me realize that Habit Grill, with similar options for around $10, isn’t such a bad deal after all. The onion rings were quite good and plentiful, but I found the burger to be overcooked; it was done more than I prefer. Islands Burger asks how you want your burger cooked, but this place just serves it well done. The bun was average—just an ordinary sesame seed variety—and the toppings were satisfactory. Overall, it was a decent burger paired with excellent onion rings, but it comes at quite a price. Would I return? Probably not. Habit Grill offers better quality at half the price, and Islands Burger is a better option for the same cost. Honestly, at this point, I’d rather just make a burger at home—it’s one of the easiest meals to prepare.

I placed a to-go order, and I must say, the burgers here are always cooked perfectly. I tried the California burger, which was fantastic. The bun was toasted just right, and all the toppings were served on the side, allowing me to customize my burger as I liked. The lettuce was exceptionally fresh and crisp. I also ordered onion rings as a side, and they were delicious too. The prices are quite reasonable considering the high-quality ingredients used. This is definitely a place you should check out if you're craving a burger and want to support a local business!

San Juan wouldn’t be complete without this diner. The burgers are consistently fantastic, the staff is super friendly, and there’s no better spot to sit outside, unwind, and enjoy some people-watching.
