Contribuiți la feedbackOn a recent return visit to San Jose, we learned that this great local place is no longer in existence. After the hurricane, the store owners decided to focus solely on their jewelry business adjacent to the restaurant and have closed Tacos & Beer.
The title says it all. My friends and I wanted to go to a place that was true and authentic. We were referred to Taco and Beer. Upon arriving we were greeted by Jesus. He was warm, kind and generous to us. Before ordering, he suggested a tequilla tasting. We learned so much information about how to properly drink tequila and its history. It was wonderful. We then proceeded to a table nearby and enjoyed what was recommended. The Mocajate! What a treat. We fell in love with this place and the owner and his family on our first night there, that we had to make another trip back before we left. I would highly recommend this as a must do spot!Say Hola' to Jesus for us!
This hidden jewel is a great find in San Jose del Cabo! Snuggled between two jewelry stores at the back of the main square behind the statue wall, this hard to find local haunt is a GREAT place for fun and food. We went our first night in San Jose del Cabo. Jesus Sanchez, the owner, welcomed us like family and gave an excellent history of how tequila is made while teaching us how to drink tequila and providing free samples. The tasting and history were fantastic and set a great mood for our visit. Very educational and fun! Jesus even let us taste different flavored tequilas that we liked so much we brought several home. If you only have one night to eat there, get the molcajete dinner - - it is fantastic and includes cooked cactus, several meats and sausage to roll in tortillas. The homemade guacamole and salsa were amazing too. We liked the food so much we came back another day for a late lunch. Jesus and his sister Silvia both design jewelry, and the restaurant opens into each of their stores, so you can shop while you wait for your food. The Sanchez family became friends during our visit, helping us with the language, trying to help us purchase a molcajete of our own, and talking at length with us about Mexican families, customs and traditions. They were so hospitable and warm. We will definitely be back for more great food, beautiful jewelry, and conversation on our next trip to Cabo!
