Contribuiți la feedbackHad breakfast on Sunday... no glory at all. The place and food are clear, the positive is its not expensive and there is good attitude to waiters. Not yet recommended unless you starve and find yourself in the place.
This restaurant is located in downtown Querétaro, near the Convento de la Santa Cruz, which we have just visited to find this restaurant. I was traveling with friends and family with children, so this place seemed a good choice. We couldn't have the day menu because it was very late and they ran it out, so we ordered à la carte. Prices are really affordable and the portions are also well served. The only complaint I have concerns the service. We were served by a waiter who set us up in a table near the entrance of the restaurant, which was a little unpleasant with children. Then another waiter took our order and the service was better, even if it took some time to have our dishes on the table. I really recommend to Huarache Queretano a very simple but tasty dish, with a base of grilled nopal, sawed vegetables, grilled chickens and grilled panela cheese. Do not forget to order extra ice for the water!
We had Comida Corrida, which means you get a soup, main retreat, desert and drink for $40, yes FORTY Pesos! Fasten soup, with Mancha coats de Cerdo and Pollo Encahuatado with Arroz con Leche and Flan. Everything was just DELICIOUS and really delicious, homemade style, (except the flan that was just blazing! I guess the Arroz con Leche was really good Cuz my party ate it so fast I couldn't even taste it! We had watermelon water and it was really good, you need to ask for ice cream. Estela, our waitress, was PERFECT, she was really nice. The service, the food, the atmosphere everything was just great. We were somehow lost and looking for a place to eat and I'm so happy that we're going to this place... You have to come to Queretaro Rico DEFINITELY for lunch! I have to come back and try their Chiles en Nogada, Chile's Rellenos and their Moles!
Friends, breakfast is one of those meals where you really don't expect any wonderful surprises. At least, that's what I used to think... I wondered in here (thankfully the first morning I spent in Queretaro. I was greeted warmly, took a seat and before the menu came I was given fresh squeezed orange juice, a plate of fresh fruit and a cup of really good coffee (all are complimentary with breakfast. . Good start! The breakfast menu is HUGE. You can get many different egg dishes (try the scrambled with bacon, and the huevos Mexicanos have a nice kick , enchilladas, and a lot of other things I'd have trouble spelling. One morning (yes, it's a ritual now my husband got the Enchillada Suisa. Fabulous! I was glad they left the basket of rolls so I could mop up the sauce with the bread. This morning, he couldn't decide so he simply pointed to a picture and took his chances. That too (whatever it was was fabulous. Here's where it gets even better. Most of the egg entrees here are under $4 (and that includes the juice, fruit and coffee . I REALLY wish this restaurant was in my home town. I'd be there every morning. This place is a FIND! P.S. This being Mexico, breakfast ends at about 1:30. Enjoy!
The food was okay. The place was too crowded. The bathrooms were not very clean. A good place for lunch, but nothing very special. I would say there are probably much better places. Would I go back? Maybe, but I'd probably rather try another place next time. Btw: The place marked on Tripadvisor was wrong. Instead, place the address on your GPS.
