Bar Restaurante Poas

We did not eat here, but instead came to watch the Columbia vs. Chile CopaAmerica Cup in late June 2019. The bar was routing for Columbia, who unfortunately lost on penalty kicks. My husband and I were here with my 18-year-old son who is fluent in Spanish. The bar was safe and lively, and we ordered a few rounds of Imperial beer, and spent some time talking with the locals. We got a takeout order from the place next door for my older son, but we did not eat anything, although it looked as though the food was very good. It was a fun night.

Third visit, just a typical bar in San Jose, maybe a little cut above the rest. The plus? Good service, Bavaria beer served, and the food was good. I had wings and my partner had casada.

A local dive bar. Clean and good service. The wings and cold beer are a favorite. Plenty of old gringos at the bar. Try it, it's convenient and good.
