This hidden gem of a restaurant is sandwiched between two others, easy to walk past without noticing. Despite its small size, we were able to find a table for lunch. We tried the casado plate and steam dumplings, both of which were delicious. The casado plate changes daily, and on this occasion, it consisted of a variety of items served with rice including green beans, a chicken-style seitan piece, eggplant tempura, chopped beef in gravy, and sautéed cabbage with veg ham chunks. We were tempted to order the fried dumplings as well but the portion size was generous with 15 dumplings. The cleanliness of the restaurant may be a concern for some, so take note of that before visiting. However, the service was efficient and pleasant.
The food it’s great but the place its not, it’s too smalls but I guess some people like that, try “casado”.
This is a small, hole in the wall type 'soda ' typical mom and pop style Costa Rican eatery. There were about 5 meal options the day I had lunch, the owners speak mostly Chinese but you can point to what you want in the display case (the food is already prepared) or on the menu. I had the lunch menu that included a few different dishes with rice (about $5) and took home another order for dinner. It was all tasty and not greasy. Very limited seating. The place gets busy. Cash only. Open 11.30 4pm. Closed Sundays.
I absolutely adore the food and atmosphere at this cozy Taiwanese spot. Once I found it, I made sure to have at least one meal here every day. This family-run restaurant will warm your heart with its delicious dishes and its unique San Jose charm. You must visit this place if you truly appreciate yourself.
